Students Enrolled in Courses for Dual High School and College-Level Credit

Program Purpose

To encourage high school students to take challenging courses and get started on their college degrees.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Enrolled in a dual credit program at a Texas public college or university.
  • Enrolled in courses for which the student will receive both course credit toward high school academic requirements and course credit toward a college degree.
  • Enrolled in classes for which the college receives tax support (i.e., a course that does not depend solely on student tuition and fees to cover its costs).

Eligible Institutions

Available only for use at a Texas public college or university.

Award Amount

If this program is offered by a college or university, the college may opt to waive all or part of the tuition and fees charged for these courses.

Application Process

Contact your high school counselor to confirm whether or not the school district has an agreement with a local public community college to offer this exemption.
