Dual Medical/Philosophy Degree Waiver (Biomedical Research Scholarship Student Waiver)

To provide a waiver of nonresident tuition for certain medical students in biomedical sciences who enroll in public institutions in Texas while paying the resident tuition rate.

Students who:

• Hold a competitive academic scholarship or stipend from their institutions;
• Are accepted in a clinical and biomedical sciences program leading to a dual doctoral degree in medicine and philosophy; and
• Are nonresidents or citizens of a country other than the United States of America.

Texas public institutions of higher education that offer an eligible clinical and biomedical research training program.

The process for applying for a tuition waiver varies from college to college. Normally, the office of the registrar processes tuition waivers. However, waivers may also be processed by the admissions office and/or financial aid. The college or university must have proof on file that the students are enrolled in the dual degree program.
